
About the association
NIPSA is the Nigerian Pharmacology Students Association of the University of Lagos. This page summarises organisational facts grounded in the Amended Constitution (July 2026).
We the members of the Nigerian Pharmacology Students Association of the University of Lagos associate in unity for the study of Pharmacology, inter-medical student cooperation, and the good administration and welfare of members on the principles of equality and justice.
The association shall be referred to as the Nigerian Pharmacology Students Association of the University of Lagos, abbreviated as NIPSA. The Dean of Basic Medical Science is the Chief Adviser / Chief Welfare Officer of the Association.
From Article I, Section 5 of the Amended Constitution. These are constitutional objectives — not marketing claims.
To cater for the welfare and defend the rights of all members of NIPSA.
To protect the image and promote the good name of the College of Medicine of the University of Lagos both at home and abroad.
To contribute towards the progress of medical sciences.
To contribute towards the improvement of health conditions of the people of Nigeria and other countries by formulating and participating in programmes such as health education campaigns and other community health programmes.
To positively and constructively identify the NIPSA and its members with other students’ activities of the College of Medicine of the University of Lagos and Lagos University Teaching Hospital (LUTH).
To identify with other paramedical associations and sister medical students’ Associations in and outside Nigeria.
To identify with National and International bodies that are related to health and medical services.
To provide its members with a conducive environment for the pursuit of a well-rounded education, the development of a responsible image and for the cultivation of a good sense of the ethics and decorum of our profession.
To organise annually a health week to advance progress in the medical sciences.
These objectives shall be pursued in entire independence of all political, religious, ethnic and propaganda groups.

Active Membership
Every registered pharmacology student of the College of Medicine, University of Lagos.
Honorary Membership
Appointed by the Executive Council and approved by the Senate.
Life Membership
For members who have distinguished themselves in service; nominated and approved per constitution.
Constitutional directorates under the Executive Council (Article III).
